IBSEA Choir

A Voice for All to Hear: The FIS IBSEA Choir Story

First came the scale, a note, then two,
Building a skill, both old and new.
From timid start to harmonies clear,
We trained each week, throughout the year.

Then came the stage, the lights so bright,
A crowd of faces in our sight.
We learned to stand and plant our feet,
To make our anxious hearts retreat.

The confidence grew, note by note,
In every smile and every song wrote.
The joy we felt,a pure delight,
When all our parts at last took flight.

We joined ten schools, the IB’s best,
Put excellence to every test.
A choir of voices, strong and grand,
A unified,artistic band.

But more than skill, or sound, or art,
We sang a message from the heart.
We channeled voices,proud and true,
A million dreams in all we do.

We sang as Egyptians, strong and bold,
A story of our culture told.
We sang as Faroukians,standing tall,
Representing one and all.
We sang for IBSEA,wide and grand,
A global,learning, hand-in-hand band!

So let the echo of our song,
Remind us where we all belong:
To learn,to grow, to take the stage,
And turn another’s heart’s next page.

IB Schools in Egypt Association (IBSEA) Conference

We are proud to announce that our Head of School, Dr. Hala Al Attar, Ed.D., and our Academic Dean, Ms. Mai Sayed, M.Ed., are representing Al Farouk International School at the IB Schools in Egypt Association (IBSEA) Conference this year.

Their participation is a strategic initiative in our commitment to developing educational leadership and advancing pedagogical practice. By engaging with this international community of IB educators, they are not only sharing insights from our own context but also actively bridging diverse perspectives to foster conversations that improve teaching and learning for all.

At the conference, our leaders are engaging in scholarly dialogue, exploring innovative educational practices, and contributing to discussions on equity and excellence—key levers that drive systemic improvement in student learning. This aligns with our vision of empowering students as future global leaders, prepared not just academically but as compassionate and effective individuals.

We believe that by stepping onto this global stage, we reinforce our dedication to a collegial and inclusive approach to education, where sharing knowledge strengthens every member of our professional community.

IB Multi-School Workshops

For the second consecutive week, Al Farouk International School’s team is engaged in IB Multi-School Workshops, following last week’s three-day IBES sessions.

This ongoing professional development reflects our commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning among our educators. By deepening their knowledge and pursuing IB certification, our teachers are enriching their pedagogical practice through meaningful academic exchange and exposure to current methodologies.

These experiences directly enhance classroom implementation, renew teaching approaches, and elevate overall performance—empowering our team to implement the programs with greater insight and innovation.

At Al Farouk, we believe in supporting every member of our community in becoming lifelong learners, starting with our dedicated educators.

Wear Like a Plant

In line with our commitment at Al Farouk International School to fostering global citizenship, we are excited to announce our upcoming theme day dedicated to raising awareness about pressing global issues, specifically global warming and climate change.

We believe that educating the upcoming generation is the cornerstone of building a sustainable future. To make this learning tangible and impactful, our theme for Thursday, December 4th, is “Wear Like a Plant.”

We invite all our learners to come to school dressed creatively as any form of plant—be it a majestic tree, a beautiful flower, a sturdy cactus, or a graceful vine. This is a wonderful opportunity for creativity, and we encourage you to help your child design a simple, fun, and imaginative outfit. The goal is for every child to feel connected to the vital role plants play in our ecosystem.

A Lasting Legacy: Our “Seedling for Sustainability” Initiative

To translate awareness into meaningful action, each child will have the profound opportunity to plant their own seedling on this day. This tree will grow in their name, serving as:

1. A Living Memory: A personal, growing symbol of their time at Al Farouk and their commitment to our planet.
2. A Model for Action: A hands-on lesson in environmental stewardship, demonstrating how individual actions contribute to a collective, positive impact.
3. A Sustainable Legacy: A practical contribution to combating climate change, cleansing our air, and greening our environment for years to come.

This initiative is designed to be a powerful pedagogical tool, instilling a sense of responsibility and hope, showing our students that they are active agents of change.

The success of this day hinges on full participation. We kindly request your support in ensuring your child participates in the “Wear Like a Plant” theme. Every child has a role and a part to play in our collective mission to model and teach sustainability.

Thank you for your unwavering partnership in nurturing responsible global citizens.
